Amanda Hay started at the Australian Museum as a volunteer for the Fish Department while completing her undergraduate science degree. Since that time she has been involved in research looking at the taxonomy and ecology of larval fishes, but more recently her work has been in helping manage the extensive Fish Collection which holds over 650 000 adult fishes and 1million larval fishes.
