Event Overview: HAPPY COMPOST WEEK! Join with other classes to learn about worm farming. Follow a demonstration of a procedure for setting up a worm farm from scratch. Share your compost experiences, what has worked at school and what is not working now. There will be a reading of Kellie Bollard's book Worms: The Mechanics of Organics. This is a title from the NSW K-2 Premiers Reading Challenge. Digital microscopy, worm word Olympics, and an interclass challenge will just about squeeze into this interactive session.

Booking Instructions:

Additional Booking Instructions: One class per camera please. When you join in the session please have your mic on mute. Bridgit meeting name and password will be provided the day before. Please log in 10 minutes before the session begins.

Further Information: You will need two empty copy paper boxes, a handful of wool (red/pink/blue) or string, a newspaper, a tea towel, scissors, textas plus some reuse paper and pencils or crayons to set up a model of a working worm farm, There will be a demonstration of how to set up a worm farm using polystyrene vegetable boxes. If you have some worms bring them along and a magnifier then your class can get up close to some worms in your room. Happy to provide follow up advice on maintaining your school worm farm following the session.
