Join astrophysicist, author, women in STEM ambassador and ABC Stargazing Live presenter Professor Lisa Harvey-Smith on a fascinating journey to the stars.
In this exciting evening event, we take part in a stargazing adventure live on YouTube! Learn how to explore the night sky from your bedroom window via a free and easy-to-use downloadable app. View the (nearly) full moon tonight and learn exciting facts about its dance around the Earth and answer the question ‘where did the moon come from?’. This will be followed by a fun and interactive Q&A session where Lisa will answer all of your questions about stargazing!
Suitable for all ages - targeted to children aged 6-12 years.
You can join through a YouTube live link in your internet browser. The link will be sent to you after receiving your booking.
To participate in the activity you will need to download the free SkyView Lite app. You will also need to access the Google Maps moon exploration page: https://www.google.com/maps/space/moon/. We recommend you have this open in a tab before the show starts.
