Safer Internet Day is an event now celebrated in approximately 170 countries worldwide. This year’s theme is "Together for a better internet".
The DET and eSafety Commissioner are working together and inviting you and your students to sign on for a webinar to address current challenges and test your students’ ability to detect fake news.
Students will:
- identify trustworthy information about current issues
- detect fake news and sponsored endorsements
- recognise the harm caused by misinformation online.
Target audience
- Level - Middle primary, Upper primary
What do I need?
- Completion of the registration form. A link will be sent to you with instructions to join on the day.
On the day
- Theatre style set up - Internet, large screen (IWB) and speakers
- There will be support materials and an opportunity to participate in a follow up activity (optional)
